The Source Skills Academy are a leading provider of training, development and conferencing facilities for the local community in the Sheffield City Region and to businesses nationally. They were established in 2003 by British Land, in partnership with Sheffield City Council, but now operate across the country. They aim to be a world-class skills and business academy which people turn to first.
The company mission and values are located on the desktop of every computer in the business and are displayed in each office and common area. They embed these values into the company culture by including them in annual appraisals, where staff must demonstrate ways in which they have met these core principles.
Employees work with local voluntary groups and offer various training programmes. More than 1,000 long-term unemployed people have been supported into sustainable employment as a result of their Work Programme department.
