The Specialist Works is a media customer acquisition network, using media, data and creative in TV, mobile, digital, transactional, media, inserts, insight, direct mail and press.

The Specialist Works was founded by Jim Lewcock and their Chief Executive Officer is Martin Woolley.

They have an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with cover for employees and their immediate family members who reside at the same address, including children in full-time education.
Their EAP service provides access to a stress helpline, structured telephone counselling, referrals to face to face counselling, referrals to serious illness and accident support, tax advice, legal advice, eldercare, childcare and medical help and advice.

To further support employee wellbeing, the company encourages employees to take time out of their day by using Flexi FOF hours to take the kids to the beach or do some Christmas shopping. They also contribute £30 a month to a health membership, such as a gym, for staff.

They created an internal handbook to help boost hiring managers’ confidence, which covered interview tips, how to write role profiles and ensuring a positive candidate experience. They also invested in external training for their People team, including attending SME Employer Brand Workshops.

If an employee raises money for charity the company matches it (up to £250), and they are entered into a prize draw to win a holiday. They also take part in AGE UK’s big bag challenge and also goods to local food bank.

To raise awareness of mental health, they held a 'Wellness Week', consisting of speakers coming in from charities such as AGE UK, a workshop on mindfulness, a paralympian speaker and various activities across all offices to release stress in the workplace.
