The company encourages employees to participate in charitable events and have a policy for matching employee donations which is well utilised. Staff initiatives have included cycle rides, coffee and cake events, marathon running, movember participation etc. The company have also developed a volunteering policy that encourages staff to take two days paid leave to volunteer in the local community. The CEO is a trustee for the Stevenage Community Trust, a voluntary organisation who raises funds and promotes charitable giving in order to enhance the quality of life of people living in the Stevenage area.

In 2015 a wide consultation took place with all employees to listen to their views on the company's purpose, values and vision and incorporate them into revised statements . This means that the statements will resonate and be relevant to all.

The company offer "training trips" to all staff. These provide an opportunity to visit a vineyard in a key wine region; the result is increased knowledge and awareness obtained in a relaxed and enjoyable forum. This improved understanding of the product range adds value to the service levels they offer their members. These trips are available to all staff, regardless of their specific role within The Society.
