My organisation genuinely cares about the environment
In 2016 Tusker have canvassed employees regarding voluntary work for charity and over 40% have responded in favour of committing to a new initiative. They have approached ‘Business in the Community’ to look to introduce a scheme during 2017. Under this initiative at Tusker each employee can receive an additional days paid holiday to volunteer for a charitable project of their choosing or work with the charity nominated by business in the community. The company charity is the Teenage Cancer Trust for whom they have raised over £30,000 to date. Every year a number of Tusker staff undertake a range of activities to raise money, these have included 100mile bike rides, the Great North Run, and Tough Mudder. Additionally, every Easter, each employee is requested to buy an additional Easter Egg which are sent to teenagers on cancer wards locally. Additionally, they have in the past supported local schools in the area, and have planted trees locally in order to continue to minimise environmental impact as part of Tusker’s carbon neutral status.
