About Two Rivers Housing

Two Rivers Housing provide homes people can afford to rent and are proud to live in, plus a range of services to residents and the wider community that builds safe, successful neighbourhoods.

Run by Chief Executive Garry King, the company is an independent, not-for-profit organisations that owns nearly 4,000 across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.

Five per cent of their employees are apprentices and they are employed in several different disciplines, including: business administration, marketing, customer services, carpentry, plumbing and IT at levels 2 and 3.

In addition, they offer secondment opportunities for employees to increase skills and knowledge, to better understand the organisation and sector and to develop confidence and competence.

To continue their development, employees are provided with statutory training courses, and skills are also updated regularly with certified training. All employees have access to the online e-learning system and resource library to improve knowledge outside of their role.

The organisation has a flexible working policy that allows employees to apply for variations to their contract, for example, if they have children to care for, or sick relatives to look after; and need to adjust their working hours. They also offer a flexi-time scheme and agile working.

Helping Hands is a project set up as part of the Staff 2020 Group. The organisation allows every member of staff to invest one day per year into this initiative. Projects include: St Johns Playgroup, The Chill Out Zone, and Dene Magna School.

They have implemented a Performance Incentive Framework to reward employees for helping to meet the organisation’s corporate objectives including: customer satisfaction, turnover and operating costs. Employees can win up to £500 for working together to achieve objectives.
