About UKFast

UKFast are one of the UK’s leading hosting and colocation providers. The company looks after world-leading brands, keeps the UK’s busiest airports’ check-in desks open and ensures the digital presence of public sector organisations is always online.

They own, manage and operate the UKFast data centre complex, with more than 30,000 sq ft of enterprise-grade, ISO-certified facilities.

Started by Lawrence Jones MBE and his wife, Gail, UKFast has expanded into a team of more than 350 employees, with Lawrence and Gail as active in the business today as they were in the beginning.

The company is committed to making Manchester the UK’s number one tech city with a number of upgrades and programmes, including a collaboration with educational provider The Dean Trust to create a high school focused on digital literacy and a partnership with Manchester High School for Girls to reduce the gender gap across tech industries.

UKFast have state-of-the-art facilities for training that consists of a fully equipped school-style classroom, training labs, meeting areas and an auditorium. Due to this, they have some of the most qualified teams in the country in Windows, Red Hat, Linux and Cisco certifications.

Every Monday the whole team meets in their custom-built, 500-seat auditorium, where their Enterprise Managing Director runs through the week before and the week ahead, sharing updates on events, client feedback, business updates, new babies, weddings/engagements, personal successes and shout-outs for superstars.

In 2018 they launched the UKFast House Cup, a competition comprising of a range of competitions and activities to suit all interests. Winners are awarded points for their house, which are then totalled up and the overall winners are announced at the Christmas party.
