About University of Surrey Students' Union

The University of Surrey Students' Union is the sole representative body for students - both undergraduate and postgraduate at the University of Surrey.

The Union is led by a team of five full-time sabbatical officers and 21 part-time student officers who are all elected annually by Students' Union members through an online ballot.

They have a wellbeing culture where people can come and express their feelings to either their line manager or direct to the HR Manager. Those in distress have the opportunity to refer people to a counselling service provided for staff on the University campus that can assist immediately.

They have also worked closely with local residents and created a new system where students are representatives for their local community in Guildford. This has started to build bridges with local residents, who at times, find living alongside students challenging and difficult.
