About Virgin Holidays

Founded in 1985, Virgin Holidays are now the UK’s favourite worldwide holiday company. They use their Branson-inspired entrepreneurial heritage and passion for innovation to provide the magic touches customers have come to expect.

In the 2017 British Travel Awards, Virgin Holidays won gold for Best Holiday Company to the USA, Best Holiday Company for Weddings and Honeymoons, and Best Holiday Company to the Caribbean and Bermuda. They also won two silvers for Best Safari, Wildlife and Nature Holiday Company and for Best LGBT Holiday Company.

On top of those destinations, Crawley-based Virgin offer holidays to Canada, the Far East, South Africa, the Middle East, the Indian Ocean and Mauritius, and have a well-established ski programme.
In 2017, Virgin Holidays appointed Joe Thompson as Managing Director, taking charge of its 900+ staff.

Virgin founder Richard Branson has declared that all Virgin Holidays profits would be ploughed into developing sustainable sources of energy.

Virgin report progress annually in their sustainability report to the Carbon Disclose Project. Sister company Virgin Atlantic are moving to more-sustainable fuel. A supplier policy sets out requirements on human and labour rights, impact on the environment and natural resources, and animal welfare.

The company’s Purpose has resulted in a better service offering. For example, single parents won’t be charged a second adult price when alone with children. Virgin live their values by holding epiphany meetings when consultants from retail stores meet other parts of the business at HQ.
