About Virgin Wines

Virgin Wines source high-quality, handcrafted wines from around the world and sell these direct to consumers online.

Part of the wider Virgin Group owned by Richard Branson, the company was established in 2000. In 2005, they were bought by Direct Wines but continue to work closely with the Virgin Group.

Since they started, Virgin Wines have sold more than 80 million bottles and were named Online Drinks Retailer of the Year in 2017.

Speaking about the award, Chief Executive Officer Jay Wright said: “I’m incredibly proud that we won the biggest accolade in the drinks trade with the Online Drinks Retailer of the Year gong. It’s definitely deserved recognition for the team, they work tirelessly to ensure that we’re always out in front when it comes to being the best place to buy wine in the UK.”

The head office of Virgin Wines is in Norwich.

What is it like to work for Virgin Wines

Leadership
Leadership
The Chief Executive Officer Jay does not have an office, opting to sit on a desk with the rest of the team. This way he is easily accessible to everyone, can join in conversations and get to know everyone in the team well.
My Team
My Team
Each month, the company hosts ‘make time for wine’ sessions where a wine expert visits the office. It is a good chance for people from different teams to interact and learn more about wine while doing something enjoyable during the work day.

The ‘red hot’ mailbox allows staff to share positive customer feedback with the rest of the business. The management team then rewards individuals for going above and beyond and making a great impact.
