They have a gym on site and the staff are encouraged to undertake a gym induction so they are able to use the gym before or after work. They also purchased a vibration machine for those staff who wanted to partake in some exercise but didn't want anything too demanding. The gym is open from 06.00 to 20.30 Monday to Friday. They also have changing rooms and showers for staff to freshen up after they have exercised. They offer staff free fruit which is available to them throughout the week. They have healthy options in the vending machines and provided free tea, coffee, hot chocolate and soup. Staff are also able to access cheaper gym membership through the Blaina Gwent leisure facilities with whom they have set up a special corporate rate. They are also members of the Welsh Hospital Association scheme (WHA) which gives benefits to staff in respect of Dentists, Opticians and Physiotherapy etc. They have a “sanctuary” where staff can relax and watch TV during their breaks. They also have a Wii, darts and snooker table, all of which are there to encourage staff to relax and interact with other departments. Snooker and darts competitions are arranged between individuals with small prizes going to the winner.

As a company they try to support local charities who provide support and service for local people which in turn benefits many of their employees. There is no upper limit set for the amount of support they will match. Additionally they support national charities such as Macmillan nurses and Think Pink and the company matches the donations made by the staff.

They have monthly awards for staff who have demonstrated the behaviours which fall in line with their values, passion, integrity and partnership (PIP). The Managing Director presents the winner with an award and they promote it through their news magazine, News at the Core, and the monthly company up date held for staff members. They have mugs, stress balls, stickers and posters all promoting the values.
