Our Mission/Vision

Mission: To continually develop a strong and proudly independent family business that succeeds for our team, customers, community and the environment over the long term, upholding the highest standards of hospitality, integrity and courtesy. Vision: To further develop Wyboston Lakes to become a leading and highly-rated business and leisure destination that offers great hospitality and outstanding customer service.

Company Information

THIS TEAM KNOWS a thing or two about relaxation. Staff at Wyboston Lakes are trained to offer their guests a luxurious experience in the peaceful surrounds of its 380-acre site in Bedfordshire, halfway between Cambridge and Milton Keynes. As a reward for great customer service, they get a turn being pampered in the award-winning spa themselves.

Owned and developed by the Hutchinson family since 1983, Wyboston Lakes has two conference and meeting facilities with a hotel and restaurant, 18-hole golf course, thermal day spa and watersports centre. A retirement village is the next project planned as part of the largest privately owned leisure and business venue in northern Europe.

Based in an area of natural beauty, the firm trains its people to recycle as much as possible. It has invested heavily in making itself a model of sustainability, spending £78,000 on solar panels, and has installed an anaerobic digestion plant to recycle biodegradables. Sparkling and still water is bottled on site. Staff believe it cares about the environment (an 83% positive score).

The workforce of 293 people has voted Wyboston Lakes into our Best Companies list every year since 2014. With 101 part-timers on board, staff are satisfied that work does not interfere with commitments at home (76%, ranking sixth).
