Best Companies develop concept leadership and engagement event with T.M.Lewin
The employee engagement specialist Best Companies have partnered with the leading retail brand T.M.Lewin to develop an innovative leadership and engagement summit.
Attended by 70 delegates made up of the T.M.Lewin leadership team, senior managers and store managers, the True North event took place on Wednesday 27 September at The Ugly Duck in Bermondsey.
A former Victorian tannery, the venue was transformed into a themed space for delegates to learn about employee engagement and to define T.M.Lewin’s strategic focus for the next five years.
Best Companies designed a bespoke tailoring concept for the event, focussing on the heritage of T.M.Lewin as pioneers of the modern shirt worn today.
Jonathan Austin, Founder & CEO of Best Companies, delivered sessions on the Best Companies’ methodology of employee engagement, used by the company for its b-Heard survey to produce the annual Best Companies to Work For lists, published in partnership with The Sunday Times.
Jonathan said: “In order for employees to feel engaged with an organisation, it is important that they understand what that organisation stands for and where it is going.”
“It’s an incredibly exciting opportunity to work with the T.M.Lewin leadership team to develop organisational clarity using our strategic engagement model. Working together, we defined a primary purpose, core principles, outrageous ambition and ingenious plan to develop a clear direction that all of their team can buy into.”
Delegates also heard from Lene Gammelgaard, the first Scandinavian woman to climb Mount Everest and a motivational speaker who works with management professionals and leaders to develop their potential.
“We were looking to partner with someone that could drive forward our employee engagement strategy. The True North event was a huge success and we are delighted that we chose to work with Best Companies.
The feedback received from delegates who attended the day was excellent. We are looking forward to our leadership team embedding what was developed on the day to ensure that we continue to look after our people so they can deliver exceptional service to our customers.”
Janine Leightley, HR Director at T.M.Lewin
