Luxury tour operator, Carrier, tailor each experience to the wishes, dreams, and goals of each and every individual.
Established in 1982, Carrier’s clients have included celebrities and royals, and they provide a discreet, attentive, and bespoke service that saves clients time and introduces them to new experiences.
Carrier believe that it’s the people that make the real difference at the organisation. There are opportunities for new employees to join Carrier at all levels of the organisation, and it works to continuously provide a working environment where employees feel appreciated, valued, and confident to express their opinions and contribute to creative ideas.
Carrier is also focused on ensuring that its employees feel happy in their workplace by building a culture where mental health can be discussed openly, and where employees can access mental health support whenever needed. Five mental health first aiders have been trained within the organisation, and all managers have completed a Mental Health for Managers course, which gives them the confidence and knowledge to have discussions around mental health with any team members who need one.
To further support its employees, every member of staff has a Personal Growth Plan which details personal objectives and development areas. Educational, fully funded trips give employees the opportunity to visit locations, inspect hotels, and experience the attractions at the travel destinations that the organisation has to offer.
I am happy with the balance between my work and home life
Carrier's team leaders have been on a 'Mental Health for Managers' course, which gives them the confidence and knowledge to have discussions about mental health with their team members and offer the appropriate support. Six mental health first aiders are also available to help staff.
I am happy with the pay and benefits I receive in this job
During the last peak sales period, employees were awarded a ‘wellness allowance’ that could be spent however the employee wished. Designed to allow employees to enjoy their leisure time and switch off from work, they could spend this ‘wellbeing allowance’ alone (e.g. a spa treatment) or with a partner or their family (cinema, restaurant, etc).
I feel that my manager talks openly and honestly with me
All managers attended a bespoke training programme based on proven coaching methods on emotional intelligence, rather than hard skills. The content centred around building confidence and autonomy, increasing clarity and focus, and effectively managing priorities and motivation. All employees, including managers, have completed menopause training allowing them to recognise and support colleagues going through menopause.
