I am happy with the balance between my work and home life
To promote a more healthy working environment, it has introduced a free healthy vending machine; all staff are entitled to one free drink and healthy snack per day. It also offers an employee assistance programme. This is available to all staff who may be having problems following a family bereavement, health issues, and financial concerns.
I feel I receive fair pay for the responsibilities I have in my job
Following its last survey, Policy Expert has revised its annual performance related pay process. For this year, heads of department were provided their own salary pot based on their headcount and its overall salary budget was allocated accordingly. Feedback from staff was that this was a much fairer way of conducting the annual salary review.
My manager cares about me as an individual
Policy Expert runs a 12-month management development programme, and once passed, each learner gains an ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management. The modules are predominantly delivered by the HR team, with some more specialist modules ran by operational subject matter experts and an external training consultant.
