Achieving status as a Best Company to Work For is an accolade like no other. It demonstrates that you care about your employees –both their wellbeing and their careers – and that you see workplace engagement as a vital part of your organisation’s purpose, ambition and principles.
From a One to Watch status through to 3 Star Accreditation, each is a standard of excellence towards which many organisations aspire – but only the very best achieve.
Whether it’s recruitment, retention, positive publicity, or accelerating growth – celebrating this achievement helps promote the unique aspects of your organisation and helps you get one step closer to achieving your goals.
This page contains advice, top tips and toolkits designed to help you publicise your achievement to positively benefit your organisation.
Something of a collector’s item, our Accreditation Plaques are a physical reminder of your achievement and serve to showcase your success to colleagues, visitors, interviewees and many more.
The plaques can be ordered from our online shop, accessible via your company’s Recognise dashboard, with unlimited purchase options meaning you have the option to share your Accreditation with other locations, teams, or departments.
To ensure your plaque has the maximum impact, why not share images of it in situ, received by you, or being celebrated by your team on social media? By using the hashtag #BestCompanies2022 and tagging @BestCompanies on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram will ensure that we see your posts and can help you increase your visibility by re-sharing and adding comments.
You’ve achieved a level of engagement that businesses around the country would love to have, so it’s important to spread the word about how well you’ve done. Sending your press release to local and sector press and media means you’re likely to get more positive coverage of your achievement – helping you stand out to job seekers, potential clients, and other businesses.
A carefully crafted press release can also drive traffic to your website, improve your employer brand and boost your reputation. To download a template to help construct a press release, click here. If you would like to request a quote from Best Companies to support your PR email pr@b.co.uk
Some of our current and former ‘Best Companies to Work For’ have appeared online and in the printed press hundreds of times, including titles such as:
When sending out a press release, make sure you target the publications most relevant to your region or sector. Make time to find the appropriate contact details or ways to submit your PR to get the best chance of it being picked up and published.
Don’t forget – editors like a good image, a quote from a senior figure and contact details for any further information with every press release received – so make sure you include these. You can also include your accreditation mark, please refer to our usage guidelines.
Once you’ve achieved either a One to Watch status, or an accreditation, you’ll have a complete set of logos and graphics to use to promote your achievement.
The logos can be used in places to highlight your fantastic achievement and show that you’re one of the best places to work in the UK. For example, why not order window vinyls for display in your offices or premises to demonstrate to your colleagues and visitors that you are a Best Company to Work For? These are available from our online shop, accessible via your company’s Recognise dashboard.
You can use the logos on your website, email footers or marketing campaigns, where it will show any visitors or recipients what you’ve achieved and how it differentiates you from your competitors.
Of course, a One to Watch status, or 1 - 3 Star Accreditation from Best Companies is a unique opportunity to attract the very best talent when you’re recruiting. By adding the mark onto your job advertisements you’re telling prospective employees just how much you care about your employees!
Whatever you choose to do – remember, the sky is the limit! Get creative with using the logos on your vehicles livery or exhibition signage, on presentations, corporate gifts and even business cards or promotional materials, including pin badges.
Remember - we have a range of logos and branding materials specially created for our Best Companies. To use them, you need to adhere to our usage guidelines to ensure that the marks look as good as they can do for your organisation.
Getting creative with our marks alongside your own branding can provide an eye-catching way to make your achievement go further.
Take Northern Monk, for example. The independent brewery based in Holbeck, Leeds, released a limited-edition beer can in celebration of its eighth anniversary. The can, which was dedicated to all of its employees, known as ‘Monks’, was adorned with photos of staff and our Best Companies logo mark to emphasise their achievement.
Cans have been spotted in major retailers across the country, a great way for Northern Monk to generate awareness of their commitment to an engaged workforce.
If you’ve shared your success in any creative or unusual ways using our marks then please let us know, we’d love to see how you’re shouting about your success!
