Engineering company, adi Group, is always keen to attract new talent and has innovative ways of doing so.
Last year, the Birmingham-based business joined forces with King's Norton Boys' School and 12 pupils were given the chance to develop core mechanical and electrical engineering skills.
The move is part of the multidisciplinary engineering company's pre-apprenticeship scheme, which already has North Bromsgrove High School onboard.
Meanwhile, this year it celebrated Women in Engineering Day, whose theme was 'Inventors and Innovators'. The company says it has its own inventive and innovative female staff and is determined to recruit more.
Melissa Britchford, a test and inspection engineer with adi, is passionate about encouraging more women to enter the workforce. She says: “A career in engineering can be incredibly rewarding; we shouldn’t let stigma and stereotypes hold us back.”
The adi Group is led by Alan Lusty, who founded the business in 1990. It operates across the UK and Ireland, offering a one-stop shop in the food and beverage, automotive, aerospace, pharmaceutical and defence industries.
The company says it is "large enough to deliver but small enough to care". It is a growing business that offers careers in a variety of disciplines and sectors working with leading brands.
Benefits for staff include the adi Pit Stop, a savings and discounts portal with Reward Gateway, a healthcare cash plan with BHSF, an employee assistance programme, a cycle-to-work scheme, free workwear, a generous holiday allowance, celebration days, and a company-wide Christmas party.
