At Carparison, helping new starters settle in is an important part of company culture. It’s something the vehicle leasing organisation prioritises to provide an enjoyable employee experience from the get-go.
Every recruit takes part in a quiz before joining, where they’re presented with multiple choice questions about their office habits – including go-to hot drink, preferred snack, and favourite car type. Their answers are then circulated to the wider team ahead of their first day to ensure they get a warm welcome and conversations can be started easily.
Along with this friendly introduction, Carparison invests time in making sure inter-team collaboration is promoted from the beginning of every new employee’s journey. A week’s worth of inductions are held with every department, with an emphasis on learning about other areas of the business to help widen skill sets, improve knowledge, and empower the individual to ask questions.
Continual improvement as a business is something Carparison believes in wholeheartedly. General Manager, Matt Woodward, is committed to empowering employees at all levels to provide ideas and feedback, and as a result, the ‘Business Improvement Taskforce’ was created. All employees can put forward contributions, ideas, and suggestions to the group for consideration, with as many as possible being implemented.
