Charlton Morris is a global executive search consultancy specialising in the medical, life sciences and industrial markets. It was founded in 2013 with a team of just nine and focused on permanent recruitment. The company has grown rapidly yet organically and now has more than 70 employees.
In 2020, a contracts division launched, as did a new principal consultant scheme that gives more flexibility to experienced staff not wanting to progress into management. The new programme also allows to Charlton Morris to hire remotely in areas including London and Manchester. At the same time, the company moved into state-of-the-art new offices in Leeds City Centre.

MD Andy Shatwell and OD Tom Maskill also coach managers individually to ensure leadership policy cascades down from the team rather than a group of individuals.

The company significantly ramped up its comms strategy during the pandemic via Slack, and with the celebration of lots of “little wins” throughout. Videos every four weeks updated staff on the business, its achievements and targets – and further meetings included live sessions that people could attend and ask questions.
