CIMSPA, the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity, has torn up the rule book when it comes to staff benefits. It offers unlimited leave, an equal pay policy for maternity, paternity, adoption and surrogacy.
CIMSPA is the professional development body for the UK's sport and physical activity sector. It helps to nurture talent, develop careers, inspire professionalism and set clear regulatory standards for success, while continuing the development of a modern, prosperous and respected sport and physical activity sector.
The organisation, based in Loughborough, in the East Midlands, says of its approach to holidays: "Being high performing can be tiring and by allowing team members to take the time they need, they can continue to be the best version of themselves."
Its parental leave policy offers 18 weeks' full pay to all team members, regardless of length of service, gender, and whether they are pregnant, a partner, husband or wife to a pregnant partner, adopting, or being a surrogate mother.
Although the benefits are great, what is most important to CIMSPA is its people. Its quarterly get-togethers recognise that when a business is constantly working under pressure it needs to hit the pause button, celebrate its successes and recognise everyone's contribution. The charity stages the events off-site to share good-news stories, thank everyone for their contributions and have a bit of fun.
