th
Best Company
to work for

The bedrock of Covéa Insurance's standout culture is a commitment to having a strong people and service ethos – something that has received widespread recognition.

This year, the business launched a menopause policy, sharing its commitment to support employees whilst in work. The company also provides access to webinars and support through its ‘Vitality at Work’ partnership.

To do its bit for the environment, in 2021 the organisation switched to 100% fossil fuel-free renewable energy providers. It is now looking at investment specifically through the lens of weighted average carbon intensity to target carbon reduction.

Coveá’s established employee network group, ‘Climate Action’, comprises one of the most forthright and inclusive means of raising awareness around environmental initiatives within the business thanks to various communications touch points. The impact of the group’s activity manifests in various ways, from increasing company-wide awareness in topical issues (like COP26) to moving the business towards more sustainable purchasing, for example exec gifts.

With a belief that working at Coveá is “more than just a job”, the insurance provider, which has over 60 years trading experience in commercial, motor, high net worth, property, pet and protection insurance, says it aims to ensure employees have an emotional investment in their work and are passionate about making their workplace the best it can be.

Quote from the top...
Putting a culture into words is difficult. However, for me to have pride in this organisation, it’s not just about what we achieve as a business in terms of financial results, it’s about how we go about doing it - the culture and engagement that we have is absolutely fundamental to that. We can’t put customers at the heart of everything we do if we don’t have a culture where our people feel able to be themselves, or a workforce that’s not representative of the communities we serve. We can’t be a trusted insurer if we can’t trust each other. We have achieved so much in such difficult circumstances and I’m immensely proud of how passionate colleagues at all levels are about making Covéa Insurance a better place to work. Our aim as a leadership team is to sustain a strong, differentiated culture, maintaining a team environment, continue to be proactive in seeking people’s opinions; evidence clear pathways to progression and where they are headed next and more crucially anticipate their personal concerns and respond quickly. As Simon Sinek quotes ‘When people are financially invested, they want a return. When people are emotionally invested, they want to contribute’. Our engagement plan is to drive that emotional investment such that working at Covéa Insurance is more than just a job.
