Business telecoms company Digital Mobile Spectrum Limited (DMSL) works for a disruption-free digital life for people across the UK.
It was set up in 2012 as a joint venture between UK mobile network operators EE, Virgin Media, O2, Three and Vodafone. The company connects people to communications and media networks and removes barriers to access.
DMSL specialises in delivering complex programmes with multiple public and private stakeholders. Using its expertise in radio modelling, customer experience and TV coverage planning, it supports its stakeholders in achieving their shared objectives through its TV interference mitigation and rural connectivity programmes.
Within the company, technology is used to ensure team members communicate effectively, work collaboratively and to create a supportive, inclusive, fun and friendly environment.
Over the past 18 months, Its learning and development programme has resulted in 85% of the team attending “how to have wellbeing conversations workshops” and 84% engaging in continual professional development. Eight staff have gained professional qualifications and one has begun a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development qualification. There have been two internal promotions.
The team use Slack, a communication platform, to keep in touch with each other. Donut was introduced after feedback that staff were missing spontaneous interaction with colleagues. The app encourages colleagues to have social chats with people they do not speak to in the course of their role. The All Things Active channel promotes the benefits of staying active and runs monthly challenges or fun activities to engage and motivate employees.
