During the pandemic, bosses at recruitment specialist, Eames Consulting Group, were led by the needs and views of their employees and held all-staff fortnightly calls to keep communication lines open, honest and transparent.

Partnerships, accountability, credibility and ethics are the principles which inform how Eames does business with clients and how it treats its staff.

Established in 2002 by Matthew Eames, a former Lloyds underwriter, the company which is focused on the mid to senior section of the market, recruits talent for the insurance, financial services and technology sectors.

From offices in London, Zurich, Singapore and Hong Kong, Eames Consulting Group offers clients a range of services including retained and contingent search, contract and short-term appointments. The group includes Eames Partnership, an executive search arm focussed on the global insurance market and ECMS, a niche consultancy also serving the insurance market. It employs more than 100 people across the UK and Asia.

Staff can grow their careers through structured progression paths and tailored development plans in an environment based around good work/life balance and having fun.

Its approach during the pandemic has been to show “that we care, to be fair, to all be accountable and to drive a sense of being in this together.”

The company has focussed on doing lots of small things consistently and well from communicating and listening to staff to offering practical support, including training for people returning from furlough, regular team meetings and virtual social activities such as pizza making and cocktail night.

Quote from the top...
"Feedback from our employees is vital for us to continue to create opportunity as an organisation. The output from this survey will be invaluable for us to understand what we are doing well, and where we can improve. We’re delighted our team feel so connected and engaged by being a part of #TeamEames, especially in a year when we’ve never been more separated through lockdowns, homeworking and restricted international borders. Our people are the heart of what we do and we are immensely proud of the resilience, drive and spirit that they have all shown over the recent months and years. We are driven by making opportunities happen for our clients, candidates and crucially, our people. We look forward to working with our team to build on the platform we’ve created, continue to improve, and strive for a 3 star accreditation next year."

Ruth Foster, Partner & Chief People Officer - Eames Consulting Group
