With so many jobs lost due to the pandemic, Gleeson Recruitment Group partnered with Oxbridge Learning to provide specialist CV feedback to people looking for work.

In the summer of 2011, Gleeson's three directors came together with a vision - to create a problem child in recruitment, a disruptor that challenged the status quo. Using their existing links in the industry they set out with a vision to build a business founded on trust, transparency and integrity, everything they felt the recruitment industry lacked.

Since then Gleeson has grown rapidly now employing staff at its head office in Birmingham and an office in Reading.

The three owners sit as part of the team, giving Gleeson a strong and defined internal culture. The company has always encouraged flexible working and working from home, so when the pandemic struck, it was able to mobilise staff quickly. It has also introduced a four-and-a-half day week with everyone finishing at 12.45pm on a Friday, with no reduction in salaries.

The owners have personally called everyone on furlough on a three-week rota, meaning that every employee has been spoken to at least once a week.

The company-wide Glee Update is now held over Teams weekly rather than monthly and managers have a daily call with their team to boost the sense of togetherness. Throughout the pandemic, Gleeson has organised virtual socials where employees can come together to catch up, have fun and forget about the pandemic for a little while.
