NEW ENTRY GOFAL started life as a housing trust following the closure of two local hospitals in South Wales. The aim was to provide supported accommodation to help adults with mental health problems to move from institutional care to independence. Today, the small charity, based in Bridgend, has broadened its remit to provide a range of services to people with mental illness. Its workforce of 131 say they are not bored (a 77% positive score) and their own health is not suffering because of the job (73%). www.gofal.org.uk
