Employees can share their ideas and feedback in various ways, from the twice-annual engagement survey and ‘Ask the CEO’ section on the intranet to roundtable discussions with Board members and as focus group members in co-creation sessions to shape initiatives.

Recent feedback as part of a ‘You Said, We listened’ has resulted in more diversity and inclusion learning sessions, career development frameworks, an enhanced internal training programme and an improved induction process.

And employees get their say in who deserves recognition for going above and beyond. They can nominate colleagues every quarter in ‘The Grainger Way Awards’, with the winners receiving £300 in their pay and a personal ‘thank you’ from the CEO.

Operations staff have an added chance to shine through the ‘Operations Gold Awards’ held twice yearly. The winners in each of the nine categories win £150, and there’s also a team award with the winners choosing a charity to receive their winnings.
