Liquid was founded 18 years ago in a Bromsgrove garage. Today, it boasts a team of 40 in the UK and the ChannelIslands and has moved from a specialist boutique PR consultancy to an integrated communications company offering PR, social, digital, marketing, e-commerce, and design.

Known for its intelligent approach to communications, the Birmingham-headquartered firm has won a number of national awards from PRCA Workplace Champion, PR Consultancy of the Year (by both the PRCA and CIPR) in the Midlands, the South and the South West and inOctober 2021 was named by PR Week as ‘The Best Agency Outside London’.

In 2022, the company expanded its office space and has taken on another floor to accommodate the rapidly growing team and to provide a media hub for video production, editing and podcast recording.

Having grown by 30% during the pandemic, Liquid has invested heavily in its training programme and its people-first initiatives. These include providing the team with breakfast every morning to ensure they’re fuelled for the day ahead, as well as a weekly hour of yoga and mindfulness sessions. The training programmes are bespoke to the company, with ‘LiquidLeaders’ aimed at divisional heads, ‘Liquid Leaders for Managers’ aimed at middle managers, and ‘Source’, the training programme for graduates.

Liquid is keen to be a force for good and invest back into the community and society it operates in. Over the last three years the company has provided £345 of donations, or pro bono work.

A monthly ‘Learning@Lunch’ session sees a team deliver an interactive presentation to colleagues in different departments to give an insight into both their job roles and nature of their work. This gives a greater understanding of what each team brings to the company, as well as enabling knowledge and skills sharing throughout the firm.

In 2021, Liquid delivered its first virtual work experience course to students interested in a career in Public Relations, something that proved so popular it has repeated it for 2022. The firm hopes that by outlining the interesting work it does for its clients, it will attract new talent into a career in PR.

With an in-house development chef providing a healthy breakfast for all employees and a weekly newsletter with wellbeing updates, employees can look forward to a variety of initiatives to keep them feeling on top form. Three qualified mental health first aiders and a specially designed office layout are intended to create a supportive working environment.
