Leadership is one of the qualities valued at the Motivational Preparation College for Training (MPCT) and two members of its team took part in trips to deliver humanitarian aid to Ukraine. With crowdfunding support from 38 individuals and organisations, the team took two days to cover the distance of more than 1,240 miles, with a stopover in Germany, before reaching a rendezvous in Poland.

In March, staff and learners completed a 12-mile log run in aid of Ukraine. They raised more than £23,000. Dedication and teamwork went into achieving their goal and the month-long training they undertook fitted neatly into the college's staff and learners' physical training programme.

The college, in Cardiff, is dedicated to offering opportunities to young people through training and education. It offers military and sports training, along with a schools programme and apprenticeship, and helps teenagers develop their fitness, vocational qualifications and employability skills.

The curriculum was designed to develop students' essential skills, self-confidence and physical fitness. The college operates a roll-on, roll-off joining process with no deadline for applications. Employee benefits include a holiday package, staff pension, free uniform and childcare vouchers.
