Portview has evolved from a small construction firm, which helped to rebuild the city of Belfast after the Troubles, into an innovative, luxury fit-out specialist.

Big-name clients such as Tiffany & Co, Samsung and Arsenal FC set high standards, in line with their global reputations, yet Portview can boast a 75% repeat business rate.

The company traces its roots back to 1975, and now has teams covering the UK and Ireland. Its business strategy is built upon five pillars: prosperity, people, partnerships, process and planet.

When the pandemic started, Portview relaunched its health and wellbeing programme, called Live Better, Feel Better, to reflect employees' changing circumstances.

The Hub, the company's award-winning internal platform, provided a quirky mix of information and fun, including tips on home-schooling, quizzes and how to learn a language, as well as the wellbeing programme. There were even calligraphy and guitar lessons.

Portview's recognition programme, Thumbs Up or a High Five, allows staff to nominate colleagues for everyday contributions as well as exemplary work or effort.

Nominations earn points – three for a thumbs up, five for a high five – which are totted up at the end of the year and converted into gift vouchers presented at the AGM. Last year, 190 awards with a total value of £7,725 were given.

Portview has announced plans to invest £2.5m in a new head office, which employees will design and build themselves to help create a collaborative, happy and healthy working environment that they feel proud of.
