The Prospero Group umbrella encompasses agencies that specialise in staffing solutions within four distinct markets: teaching, health and social care, engineering and the audio visual industry.
Founded in 2000 the company has grown to more than 150 employees. Expansion has been at its most acute recently, with Prospero doubling in size over the past three years. In spite of the rapid growth the specialist divisions of the business have managed to maintain supportive, small-team outlooks and the Group prides itself on having a family feel.
The company's commitment to best practice is evidenced by its accreditation by the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), the only membership body dedicated to representing excellence in the professional recruitment industry.
Prospero Teaching, the education arm of the business, has won repeat commissions by the Department for Education to offer a unique programme that recruits, acclimatises and mentors teachers from overseas into the UK. The Group has offices across the UK including in London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Essex, Manchester, Leeds and Cardiff while Prospero also has outposts in Canada, the UAE, Australia and New Zealand. Employees have the opportunity to gain expertise in their recruitment niche and they fulfil a range of roles that includes candidate managing, compliance, in-house teacher resources and finance for candidates.
I love working for this organisation
Life insurance and a health cash plan have boosted Prospero's staff benefits in the past year, and the company's annual award ceremony recognises both individual and team efforts. In response to the pandemic Prospero implemented social distancing measures and has a 50%-50% working from home policy.
My team is fun to work with
One of the ways that Prospero kept levels of staff engagement high during the pandemic was with its ‘Stay Connected' quiz, which incorporated a different challenge daily. An e-tea break provided an opportunity for staff to catch up with each other, and regular emails were an effective means of keeping communication open throughout.
I am happy with the balance between my work and home life
Staff have access to two employee assistance programmes, and the company has also added a mental wellbeing app that features fitness videos and mindfulness courses.
