In the past 18 months, accountant and tax adviser Rickard Luckin has developed a challenging set of five-year goals based around its people, clients and business. The Essex-based company set about making them clear to staff.
One of its goals is to keep on improving employee engagement, which it aims to make world class by 2026. In September, the company brought together its staff of more than 150 people to tell them about the objectives and celebrate employee successes at its first RL Awards. The awards programme was created by a group of volunteers who were passionate about celebrating the teams' successes. It proved such a success that it will be an annual event.
The company has also invested in revamping its office spaces in Basildon, Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea to allow seamless hybrid working. A variety of flexible working spaces have been created to support a range of tasks, from areas for deep-focused solo work, to high-collaboration meeting and social spaces.
Rickard Luckin has close links with professionals in 300 locations around the globe through its membership of the MGI Worldwide network of audit, tax and accounting firms.
The Rickard Luckin Essex Community Fund works with Essex Community Foundation, which since 1996 has made £34m. The accountancy firm's contributions go to smaller, less well-known charities in the county. Throughout the year the business's staff stage activities to raise cash for the fund. Staff are also given two volunteering days off a year to work for a cause they care about.
