Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health set and maintain the standards for paediatric training across the four nations in the United Kingdom. In order to encourage employee engagement, and embed a culture of "this is the way we do things around here", they hold an annual staff conference each year. The conference is organised by staff for staff and a theme is nominated by the staff group. In 2018 the focus was on their values of ‘include' and ‘wellbeing'. Their conference started with a plenary quiz about staff across the college and then staff broke out in to the workshops of their choice, which included leadership games, a tour of the London Museum, BoxingYoga, acrylic painting, arts and crafts, and book folding. Since their founding in 1996, they now have over 18,000 members across the world, and they play a major role in postgraduate medical education, professional standards, research and policy.
