The organisation employs close to 250 people and offers a range of staff social events including quiz nights, BBQs, parties, and informal lunch and learns.

Thakeham are proud to support charities and community initiatives, this includes every team member being able to participate in two days paid volunteering each year, resulting in over 500 hours of volunteering.

It has an established long-term partnership with the Plunkett Foundation, a national charity who support community trust businesses.

At Woodgate, Thakeham worked with the Plunkett Foundation to establish a community business that will run the hub, with no debt attached.

Support for other organisations continues with donations to St Catherines Hospice, Crawley Open House, and sponsorship of local sports clubs, plus £10,000 support for the Oceansheroes who rowed across the Atlantic to raise money for Sea Bins.

Thakeham also deliver its Eddie and Ellie Programme in primary schools, using a book as a springboard into several curriculum topics, and funding school trips to a Wildlife Trust education facility as part of the programme, not only providing a valuable activity for the children but a vital revenue stream for this charity.

For secondary school pupils, Thakeham focuses on careers education and are a Cornerstone Employer.

Furthermore, in 2023 the organisation were awarded the Gold Armed Forces Covenant for support and advocacy of veterans and reservists from the military.
