The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) is a distinguished membership organisation that was established in 1980. It provides comprehensive support services and education to professionals who manage and process UK payroll and pensions. The CIPP plays an instrumental role in influencing future legislative changes in conjunction with Government bodies, addressing the myriad of legislation pieces that impact payroll and pension delivery in the UK.
Over the years, the CIPP has undergone numerous transformations, each marking a significant milestone in its journey. In 2001, it acquired PAYTrain, forming IPPM Education Ltd, which served as the training and business arm of the organisation. Despite the growth and evolution, the CIPP has successfully retained the 'family feel', a testament to its strong, close-knit community.
The organisation's leadership team, led by the CEO, ensures organisational clarity by incorporating values and objectives into all employee communications. This is reflected in various resources like the employee handbook, Quality Management System manual, and the Wellbeing handbook. A working group was also established to explore ways to further embed the organisation's mission, vision, and values.
To foster inclusion and maintain culture in hybrid and remote working environments, the CIPP hosts quarterly wellness webinars, monthly coffee mornings, and in-person staff meetings. It also uses Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings and group messaging, ensuring all employees feel connected and valued. Through initiatives like 'Praise' and 'Employee of the Month', the CIPP celebrates its employees and their successes, creating an environment that truly cherishes and supports its employees.
