Strong leadership has guided The Fostering Network through a difficult year, helping to ease the uncertainty felt by team members. When nearly 100 staff members dispersed to work from home during the coronavirus pandemic, it was crucial to maintain regular communication.

The CEO and senior leadership team stayed in touch via the network's intranet and a range of other platforms to help staff continue to offer the best possible customer service and support to the fostering community all over the country. Flexible working hours were offered to those juggling homeschooling and other responsibilities within the working day.

Based in London, The Fostering Network was set up more than 40 years ago by foster carers who wanted to share their experiences and learn from each other. It has become the UK's leading voice advocating for positive change in foster care, aiming to raise outcomes for looked-after young people and to back up the carers who are helping to transform their lives with support and resources.

As an organisation working with young people who have had a difficult start in life, The Fostering Network specifically recruits people who have had experience in the care system and offers a friendly working environment with a real sense of family across the workforce.
