Thorntons Law LLP are one of Scotland's largest full-service law firms, with ten offices across the East of Scotland. Their legal and estate agency teams deliver practical advice to a wide range of clients. They have 56 partners supported by over 500 colleagues in offices in Dundee, Angus, Fife, Perth and Edinburgh. Thorntons Law can trace its roots back to 1857 when Sir Thomas Thornton began a legal practice in Dundee. They employ a “reduce, recycle, reuse” initiative in activities that impact on the environment, and are reducing their carbon footprint with fuel efficient, electric or hybrid vehicles. They have a bike to work scheme in place and are working on ways to further promote green commuting. In addition, these initiatives include video-conferencing facilities for internal meetings, seminars and client meetings are in place in most of their offices, reducing the number of inter-office business trips by approximately 1,320 per year, reducing inter-office travel by 66,000 miles annually.
