The Manchester-based organisation develops and regenerates inner city sites into new housing developments and staff give the firm an 82% score for making a positive difference to the world, the 10th highest result in our survey. Chairman Tom Bloxham makes a point of having lunch with every team once a year — with no managers present. The 164 staff say that he is an inspiration to them, with a positive score of 85%. Staff say working for the firm is good for their personal growth (83%), work is stimulating (80%), they feel they can make a valuable contribution to the company (84%) and are excited about where it is going (88%).
