Fintech company Yobota provides a fast and flexible operating platform for financial services.

The cloud-based platform allows established and challenger financial institutions to launch – and run – some of the most innovative products in the UK market.

The rapidly growing, London-based company considers its employees its most valuable asset.

As part of its ‘one team' ethos, Yobota strives for transparency, invests in talent and rewards and recognises success.

To provide transparency, it provides multiple opportunities for employees to get involved, ensuring they are with the firm ‘each step of the way, through the good, the bad and the ugly'.

Investment in talent includes allocating everyone a generous training budget for continued professional development and giving managers professional coaching on creating high performing teams.

Performance is reviewed bi-annually and success is rewarded via promotion or through a bonus scheme.

Employees have been given work-from-home budget to buy equipment for remote working during the pandemic and a return to the office is not expected until at least the end of 2021, unless it is safe to do so.

Managers have received training on nurturing wellbeing while overseeing their teams remotely and a flexible furlough has allowed one member of staff to help with the national vaccination programme.

Sociable weekly interactive video sessions provide the chance to discuss everything apart from work and coronavirus.

A performance coaching programme for senior management and the wider leadership team will equip them to handle the challenges the company will face as it continues to grow.

Featured Workplace Factors

My Company

83% of staff agreed

I love working for this organisation

Yobota's engagement survey picked up that new starters felt isolated because they couldn't see their new workmates in virtual meetings. Employees are now encouraged to switch on their cameras to create a sense of cohesion, boost social interaction and, of course, meet new joiners.

Personal Growth

80% of staff agreed

This job is good for my own personal growth

Junior members of the team will receive career development support and advice from senior management in a new mentoring programme. A virtual workshop provided each member of staff with a wellbeing plan for remote working tailored to their individual needs.

Wellbeing

54% of staff agreed

I am happy with the balance between my work and home life

Staff have been able to see an online counsellor or ask them questions via Slack. A new online portal features a large wellbeing section which includes advice on mental and physical health. Food and snacks are delivered to people's homes to enjoy during business updates.
