Walking meetings are part of the agenda at Yorkshire Sport Foundation, which believes in the power of sport and activity to change people’s lives, bring us together, and tackle inequalities.
The charity's role is to connect, influence, and provide support for sport and physical activity, increasing and improving the many ways people can take part and get active. It supports the work of local, regional, and national organisations.
A quarter of the population is inactive and the National Lottery-funded charity, which is an Active Partnership, supports organisations across the nine districts of South and West Yorkshire.

YSF encourages formal training and mandatory learning through to individual and peer-led support and mentoring. Additionally, it provides team members opportunities to volunteer in social action projects throughout the year.
