This IT solutions and services company has staff spread far and wide around the world, but they are united by its four values: intellectual curiosity, subject matter expertise, community first, and no compromise on delivery.

Since its launch 22 years ago, 1E has served 1,750 organisations and earned more than 40 patents. The employee-owned company now has more than 250 staff located mainly in the UK, America and India, with smaller bases in Ireland and Canada.

The senior leadership team has decided to transition 1E to a "Work From Anywhere" organisation, which prioritises flexibility and work/life balance. All team members will be able to choose to work from home, from a coffee shop or even from abroad for a few weeks if away on holiday.

Senior leaders expect a lot from staff, but always aim to reward effort. The rewards on offer include share options, long-service bonuses and private medical and dental cover.

To encourage professional growth, the company offers external and internal coaching. There is also an Onboarding Buddy workshop.

To encourage personal growth and social connections, 1E has created special interest groups on Teams for staff to join. These are dedicated to subjects such as science fiction, chess, films, pets, exercise and homeschooling.

A new company event called Lightning Speed was accompanied by a gift box for each employee, including a 1E hoodie and socks and a chilli plant kit. The event included a motivational speaker, employee awards and presentations on company strategy. It was so successful it will now be held annually.
