Investing in its people is part of the fun at accountancy firm, Albert Goodman, not least thanks to its ‘Dragon’s Den’ style training days.
Based on the popular BBC series, employees are joined by the firm’s partners to interact and have some fun whilst looking at core skills including communication and improving confidence, as well as discussing experience and development.
The South-West based firm, which has six UK sites, has a primary focus on providing expert advice and great service to its clients in many areas including tax, insolvency, financial planning, and payroll. From day one, employees at Albert Goodman are supported in their training and development and have the potential to lead a varied and challenging career.
Giving something back is part of the culture that’s valued highly by the organisation, and in 2021 all offices collectively raised money for the Children’s Hospice South West, with activities ranging from 90s themed dress-up days to firm-wide quizzes.
Sustainability is high on the agenda, with a recent ’30 Days to Sustainable Ways’ initiative held within the business to find new ways of going green. There’s also a newly created Sustainability Committee, which is tasked with looking at ways in which the business can achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. Staff regularly take part in litter picks and are encouraged to cycle to work and make use of digital resources.
