Appello uses monitoring technology to help housing, health and social care organisations to improve the lives of their customers, patients and residents. Employing more than 400 people across three offices in southern England, it has grown since 2014 to become the market leader in two Technology Enabled Care Services markets, supporting 230,000 people to live safely in their own homes.

Its Smart Living Solutions system provided elderly and vulnerable people with material improvements in safety, security and wellbeing. CEO Tim Barclay recognises the role of strong communications and provides all employees with weekly updates on managing the pandemic while also providing news on financials, customer wins, rewards and recognition.

Rewards are channeled through structured schemes such as ‘Acing It' and ‘Personal Best' as well as awards from the ‘Goody Cupboard'. With culture stressing a blend of technology and people as key to success, extra mental health training has been provided for managers to support their teams and to share best practice throughout the company. They are also tasked with succession planning within their teams as Appello likes to promote from within. Employees are encouraged to actively engage in the process before vacancies are advertised externally.

The company is proud of its involvement in industry-wide initiatives. The chief technical officer and commercial director are part of a British standards technical working groups in recognition of their experience and leadership in driving forward change.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
