Basingstoke and Deane work in partnership with a growing cohort of organisations, across public, private and third sectors to deliver and commission high quality, value-for-money services to their residents and support the economic and social wellbeing of their community. Their key priorities are to prepare for controlled and sustainable growth, to improve residents' quality of life and to support those that need it. Underpinning these priorities is a cross cutting theme to ensure they remain a low tax council, drive efficiency, use technology to best effect and to enter into partnerships and service delivery arrangements that improve service and reduce cost. At Basingstoke and Deane they do things differently – they are an exceptional council. In contrast to many, their strong financial base means they have the capacity and the commitment to make things happen. They are establishing the foundations for the development of their borough over the next 50 years and are redefining the benchmarks by which they measure themselves and challenging themselves to go further.
