Wellness has become a big part of life at Bible Society with the charity continuing to promote wellbeing activities that relate to the daily and weekly routines of its employees.
This year, the not-for-profit held a Winter Wellbeing Challenge asking staff to share their top tips for looking after wellbeing during the winter months, with a £25 voucher up for grabs for those with the best tips. At the beginning of each week, mindfulness reflection offers employees the chance to reflect on the previous week and set goals for the week ahead.
Founded in 1804, the medium-size organisation based in Swindon is on a mission to encourage the distribution and use of the Bible, driven by the conviction that when people engage with the world's bestselling book their lives can change, for good. Its work in England and Wales includes spreading the word through advocacy, schools outreach and providing devotional resources, collaborating closely with local churches and bringing the Bible to life in relevant ways across politics, the media and the arts.
Led by the CEO, Bible Society has a dedicated team that is focuses on employees being able to flourish within the charity. Working with both staff and external providers, the group ensures that their rhythms and practices are inclusive for all who encounter them. As an accredited Disability Confident Employer, Bible Society goes that extra mile to provide a fair chance for those with disabilities and challenges attitudes towards disability by increasing understanding and removing barriers in the workplace.
