Trainee hearing dog, Emmy, helps to boost morale at CFG Law with her visits to the office. The firm, a specialist in serious and catastrophic injury, is supporting the charity that is training her.

Established more than 30 years ago, CFG Law specialises in personal injury claims and has teams based in Cheadle, Manchester and Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, as well as consulting offices in Sunderland, Oxford and Cambridge to support its partnerships with the Spinal Injuries Association and brain injury charity, Headway.

CFG Law's SPIRIT values: Support, Passion, Innovation, Respect, Integrity and Teamwork are integral to the way the firm works, from delivering its client-first service to organising charity and social events and supporting each other to learn and grow. Staff receive recognition for living the values via SPIRIT Awards. Winners can select a range of prizes, from gift cards, to a meal out or a half-day holiday.

The firm's ambition is become the UK's leading serious injury business by 2026. It says "this does not mean the largest or most profitable", but to be a business that influences change in the industry and puts the injured person and their family at the forefront of the process.

Last year it launched a campaign to have the bereavement laws updated. The company says: "The law in relation to bereavement damages in England and Wales is woefully inadequate for the modern family and doesn't reflect the diverse families in our society.
