Serious and catastrophic injury specialists, CFG Law changed its bi-monthly dress down days to dress up days and organised a raft of other online activities to raise money for charities from a steps challenge and virtual bike ride to a Mad Hair Day, which involved staff dyeing their hair, crazy styling, wearing wigs and one employee even shaving their head.

Established more than 30 years ago CFG Law specialises in personal injury claims and today has teams based in Cheadle and Manchester as well as two consulting offices in Sunderland and Oxford which opened last August to support its partnerships with the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) and brain injury charity, Headway.

CFG Law's SPIRIT values: Support, Passion, Innovation, Respect, Integrity and Teamwork are integral to the way the firm works from delivering its Client First Service to organising charity and social events and supporting each other to learn and grow. Described by new joiners as “transparent and refreshingly different”, last year 86% of new recruits came through employee referrals.

Chief executive, Richard Clark, reassured staff their jobs were safe through vlogs, blogs and business briefings and CFG Law, which has not had to furlough anyone in fact awarded staff pay rises. Employees also received gift boxes along with virtual thank you cards as mark of the firm's appreciation of their hard work.

Virtual social events included weekly lunchtime quizzes and a first birthday party for the Manchester office. A CFG yearbook was also created with input from all staff.
