'Move', 'Munch', 'Money' and 'Mind' are the themes of Circle Health Group's initiative to improve employee wellbeing. It embraces nutritional advice, fitness classes, financial wellbeing, mindfulness, and staff recognition through gifts.
The UK's largest independent healthcare provider has created a holistic online wellbeing hub that is accessible to all staff, round the clock, and contains articles and information designed to help maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle, as well as promoting mindfulness practices and art therapy to de-stress and refocus.
Founded in 2004 by a group of doctors and managers who believed in a fresh approach to healthcare, Circle Health Group's commitment to wellbeing is part of its constant quest to improve its employee offering and to empower each staff member to make a difference.
The organisation provides more than 1,700,000 outpatient and 300,000 inpatient visits to insured, self-funding and NHS patients every year via a network of more than 50 hospitals and clinics.
Last year it launched its new philosophy — a set of values and principles to bring the organisation together as one. The senior leadership team visited each Circle location to talk to staff and promote clarity on how the organisation works, its purpose and how everyone contributes to that.
This inclusive approach to communication, along with setting up an employee voice forum, peer-to-peer recognition and launching a communication app, has had a positive effect on staff, who have responded by showing that they are more confident that their views are heard.
