PRIDE AND PREJUDICE was a favourite read for the staff book group at CityWest Homes — and it is a truth universally acknowledged that colleagues at this London housing association care about each other, scoring 77% positive. They have fun together (80%, 11th among mid-size not-for-profit organisations), not least when discussing Jane Austen over a glass of wine, or dancing the night away at a ball attended by almost half the staff last summer. The workforce of 383 led by inspiring chief executive Jonathan Cowie (70%) look after 21,000 properties in Westminster. Cowie sometimes works in the communal kitchen to catch up with employees informally. CityWest's best factor is My Manager (72%, 18th).
