Three years ago Danske Bank appointed its first female UK chief executive, Vicky Davies, and it has made a commitment to build a more inclusive culture, where every colleague feels empowered and can thrive.

The leading bank in Northern Ireland and a challenger bank in the United Kingdom, Danske Bank is committed to creating a collaborative culture where colleagues have a true sense of belonging. That passion is underpinned by investment in learning and development, employee wellbeing and digital tools that enable them to perform and achieve.

Last year the bank's leadership team hosted a series of digital roadshows for all colleagues to communicate its strategy and explain what it meant to all business areas. The aim was to make sure everyone understood what their contribution was to the strategy and felt connected to the business.

CEO Vicky Davies is passionate about colleague engagement and feedback and hosts regular calls with colleagues to update them on progress and share bank achievements. Leaders also nurture an environment where colleagues feel safe to voice concerns, make suggestions and give honest feedback.

Danske Bank operates a rewards system for colleagues, Danske Discounts, which includes shopping discounts, a concierge service for travel bookings, last-minute tickets, emergency home services and price comparisons. It also launched a benefits platform that gives people access to all the benefits available, such as private medical insurance, income protection and critical illness cover, an electric car salary sacrifice and holiday-buy schemes.
