Alternative legal services provider, DRS, trains its staff to be cross-skilled and able to fulfil each other's roles so during the pandemic it was able to move people from furlough to actively expanding projects. This included training a sales executive to move into a legal role.

DRS specialises in negotiating legal contracts for the financial services sector. Its DocHub teams in London and Newcastle keep institutions compliant with changing regulations. Guided by its three core principles; do the right thing, play your part and choose growth, DRS fosters an inclusive, collaborative and diverse culture reflecting a workforce that speaks 20 different languages and comes from more than 23 nations.

The company provides technical skills training from day one and ongoing soft skills development aligned to its career roadmap along with an option to work from home which was in place pre-Covid and a friendly and sociable environment, including weekly Friday drinks.

The firm's Culture Club acts as a voice for employees and their input has resulted in initiatives including check-in calls with staff, virtual social events selected by staff, a working from home tips packs and fitness workouts and yoga. DRS encourages charitable activities and gives staff three paid days a year to volunteer.

The company sponsors Washington United's junior football team and raised money for trikes, bikes and mini trampolines for pupils at Goodrich Community Primary in Southwark through a week-long cycling challenge involving 25 cyclists collectively riding 10,000km.
