Service with a smile is one thing but the Everflow Group is happy to take it a little further. One of the key phrases in its list of company values is “have a laugh”, and fancy dress has been worn on occasion.

Not that this medium-size business isn't serious about what it does. The operation consists of Everflow Water, which supplies water to businesses, and Everflow Tech, the software provider behind its success. Since launching in 2015 as an ethical supplier, it has grown to about 80 employees across two locations, in Teesside and Nuneaton, while developing its own software solutions. Its main goal is to focus on improving the customer and employee experience through innovation and automation.

The business has attracted private equity investment and its progress has been recognised by a series of award nominations.

CEO Josh Gill is keen to create an enjoyable working environment; hence its commitment to staff wellbeing and benefits, and the “have a laugh” approach.

Employees can take advantage of wellness sessions, free parking, eye tests, flexible working hours and a range of social events. Newcomers to the water industry are welcome to apply to join the Everflow Academy, where they gain experience in areas including customer service, finance and credit control, sales and marketing, and admin support and employee engagement.

Mental health courses, informal virtual get-togethers and quizzes were supplemented by a cycle-to-work scheme and encouraging exercise during daylight hours for those working from home.
