Featurespace
The culture of Featurespace, which still has its UK headquarters in Cambridge, has remained a consistent factor in times of intense growth and development. It emphasises working as a team, having fun and achieving commercial success while combatting fraud and money laundering.
Keeping teams connected the company introduced several initiatives such as a regular zoom quizzes, coffee chats and weekly virtual 'Beer O'clock' traditions, bringing colleagues together from across the business.
Using cutting-edge technology to combat fraud and financial crime on an international scale, Featurespace was founded by Bill Fitzgerald, a University of Cambridge professor, and Dave Excell. It created the ARIC platform to monitor suspicious activity and alert banks and payment firms.
Striving for innovation is understandably one of its core values but the others give an insight into what it's like to work for this large company. They include telling the truth kindly, demonstrating generosity and empowering its employees to take the right decision for the customer – plus remembering to “keep the fridges full”.
More than 30 global financial institutions use ARIC to protect their business and their customers, including HSBC, Worldpay and TSYS. The company aims to reinforce its values as it puts its customers, at home and overseas, at the forefront of every decision.
Featurespace makes a priority of doing what is best for customers and colleagues, ensuring the correct resources are available to its teams as well as development opportunities, knowledge sharing, mentoring and shadowing.
